This sort of journalism really ticks me off, and clearly shows that neither the journalist nor the researcher has not actually spent any time in the tech industry.
We DO need to address the gender gap in the math and sciences (and as a result computers and technology), but I think it more it’s more complicated. The gap begins much earlier and has more to do with the rates of development in boys and girls. Read Brain Rules and Sex and Cognition for good research on brain development and brain gender differences.
